Yup, your not the only one growing your collection for the new house, we got one ourselves, lol. My husband has been playing with the new toys already, we are making ours a smart house with all the bells and whistles in technology.
http://programmable-thermostats-review.toptenreviews.com/ This the best site to retire the features from all. I have #6. http://t.homedepot.com/p/Honeywell-Wi-Fi-Smart-Thermostat/203926327/?showPLP=false I don't like the learn feature of the nest, not for me, I like control things, and I like a big display with lots of options. :)
For security we went for d-link and August combo pack from best buy, it's got no monthly fee lets us monitor are home from anywhere.
Auto locking and unlocking use Bluetooth, video monitoring using wifi. We plan to have too add a camera to every outside door. It has motion and noise sensors built in to the camera, and it notifies your email or phone if it hear or sees something. No more locking yourself out as you can get out the door without your phone to unlock or lock it unless u lock it by hand. Still can use your old key and lock. No one can see you have this install from the outside like others that make clear your use this feature.
I should start! I've been tied into the building process and selling our current home that I haven't wrapped my brain around shopping yet...but I will do soon enough. Where are your ordering from?
Haha I wish you could see our current basement! I have been collecting things for the past year.. not so much big furniture or anything, but pictures and trinkets and things for throughout the house. I LOVE the ruler! I was thinking about making one of those :)
I wish we had a garage so we could buy stuff gradually -- I mean, I just think it makes good budget sense to space out purchases like that. Storage units are so crazy expensive in the DC area, so it doesn't really make sense for us to do that either. Guess we'll have a pretty empty house for a while. :) http://greenbeltmatisse.blogspot.com/

ReplyDeleteWe've been looking at Nest, but my boyfriend isn't sold on it. What products have you chosen?

ReplyDeleteI've been spending just a little every month so it's not a huge chunk of cash after the move.
DeleteOh and I'm a big fan of Etsy and Wayfair.com. I've found a few smaller things at local stores here in Ohio.

ReplyDeleteI wish I were crafty. I could save so much money on this stuff. Luckily those crafty ladies all have ETSY stores now.
