Sheer perfection

Today was supposed to be paint, but it must have been rescheduled.

Long electric continued their work. They finally put in our pendant lights. They forgot about the dimmers we ordered so those will go in place on Monday.

They have yet to sand the patched drywall. I'm assuming this is why paint was rescheduled.

They put in our porch columns today. They finish the look perfectly.

And to my surprise, the granite was installed. This kitchen is everything I've ever dreamed about. Sheer perfection

The whirlwind is beginning

The schedule at the house is hectic.  The schedule at home is even more so.

The plumber is at the house. The water was turned on and he's going through each section checking for leaks.

The electrician is finishing up with the outlets today.

JP is on site scanning the walls with a flashlight and personally smoothing out any drywall flaws the crew missed. He rocks!

The drywall crew will be in today to fix the two big holes that they cut out yesterday.

A cleanup crew is set to come in and get the major messes. The final cleanup will happen closer to closing.

The painters are scheduled to come in tomorrow and finish up.

We still have a hole in our laminate from the stray wire they floored over.  I'm not sure when they come in

The garage still needs mudded and textured.

We are waiting for dry weather so they can come finish the siding. Then gutters will be installed next week.

I'm not sure when the countertops will be installed either. Once those are in the plumber can finish up in the kitchen.

Maura, from the design center, also takes care of blinds. We added in blinds on most of our windows into the contract. She called today to verify locations and will be out to install them after the painting is done.

After painting they need to install shelving, install the canopy range hood, install carpeting and put in my front door. JP said the door will be the very last item.

Behind the scenes we are trying to prepare for the move.

The u-haul is reserved.

The appliance and furniture deliveries are scheduled.

We are doing the final paperwork with our lender. Getting him all the letters and copies he needs.

We called and set up our home owners insurance.

We will need to take our paint down and have it tinted at Sherwin Williams.

The cable company was called. They had a surveyor call us back to map out the location. I don't think we've heard back from them yet.

We still need to contact the gas and electric. We need to do a change of address on EVERYTHING.

We're waiting on estimates for either a deck or patio for the back yard.

We are waiting on the landscapers to get back to us to schedule a meeting to change our design and add some trees. They already sent us the estimate for the design my boyfriend emailed them.

We are packing just a couple boxes a day. Getting down to the bare necessities. A lot of these little boxes we will drive over to the house in our own vehicles the first couple days.

On the plus side, the backhoe is on site at our neighbors lot and as soon as the rain lets up they will start the excavation. That dirt belongs to our backyard.

So much to do... So little time.

We finally have a driveway

I was at the house by 8:30am and the concrete truck was already pulling out. There is a crew of 6 men smoothing it out.

When I came back at 10:30 with coffee and donuts they were just finishing up.

They scrape the texture and smooth the sides all by hand. I was impressed.

The trim guys did a great job with the built in. It just needs trim and to be painted. Then they install tracks to put up the shelving.

The faucets have been delivered and plumbing "stuff". The plumber was there installing toilets. He discussed the powder room with me. The back of the powder room is an exterior wall so they didn't want to run a water line on it. Therefore our water line is on the side wall next to the toilet. In order to fit everything the toilet is slightly off center. He asked if I was ok with that. Well... I'm not even sure I have the option of not being ok with it. I could barely notice it was off center. He also referred to our "comfort height" toilets as handicap toilets. Lol. We're a tall family... Not quite a handicap.

The kitchen stuff is stowed away until the countertops go in.

My slightly off center toilet

We weren't impressed with the choices for faucet upgrades so we will do that ourselves.

They have a couple of guys patching the drywall.  Though after the electrician and Guardian get done they will need to come back.

The wiring for the sconce in the stairway was drywalled over, so now there is a massive hole.

They also drywalled over the wiring for a sensor by the front door.

The electricians are finishing with the light fixtures.

Guardian is installing our intercoms, security, doorbell, thermostat and who knows what else.

I caught them installing our new window. I yelled out the back, "Does it fit?" And the reply was a thumbs up.

It's a crowded house today. They have so much going on. I could visit every hour and there would be something new to see every time. They are full steam ahead for the July 14th finish.  20 days!!

Let there be light

As I pulled up to the house a HUGE green truck was starting to pull away. We have more goodies in the house.

The lighting was no longer in the garage.

Entryway

Hallway

Nook

Basement

Powder room

Some were waiting to be installed

Even the carriage lights were in

The ceiling vents were in

And the smoke detectors

The toilets came in three separate boxes

They were finishing the trim work.

And working on my built-in

It looks like they prepped to pour the driveway, walkway and porch tomorrow. It's on my day off and I kinda want to just hang out and watch how it's done.

And finally, the right size window arrived. Crossing my fingers it fits tomorrow. Then they can finish the siding.

The crew hanging lights will be back tomorrow to finish. At some point they come back to patch the drywall and repaint.  The walls are looking a little rough.  I imagine the last thing they do is the carpeting.

Almost there. Almost there.

Not much happening

Yesterday everything dried out. Today we had another clear day and I was hoping to see the driveway, porch and walkway done. Well, that didn't happen and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Sigh.

They did install our air conditioner. It looks so tiny. I took a picture of the serial number so I could look it up.

I was able to get pictures of the finished tile work. It looks like they just need to clean up the tile.

The mudroom

The master shower

The listello picks up the colors of the vanity

My boyfriend told me the lighting had been delivered. I didn't check the garage so I'll get pictures tomorrow.
