We feel very settled and are enjoying watching the neighbors pop up all around us. It's fun to be the "veterans" and answer questions for those in the building process. Although I long for the day I can get my Jeep muddy for fun and not just driving through my neighborhood.

Better late than never
So it's been over 7 months in our new home. It took that long to finally get a rug for our entryway. Procrastinate much?

Section 2
It's a beautiful sunny day with mild temperatures. You would never believe it's February. It looks like the groundhog might have been right yesterday.
It's perfect weather here on The Bluffs and that is nothing but good news for our future residents.
Each day brings the hustle and bustle of trucks, vans and other equipment that line our streets. Come summertime most of our section will be complete.
Only 9 more lots are left in Section 1, and that number maybe dwindling while I type. This has caused the powers that be to give the thumbs up to Section 2.
At the end of our Bluffview drive sits a gravel turnaround with the forest beyond. All of which is now in the process of being cleared out for the next section.
It will eventually wrap around and meet Brehm boulevard, leading to future sections in the cornfield beyond.
For now we are enjoying the building process. We like to walk the lots and guess at the model being built.
Next door on lot 9042, a Camden is in its finishing stages. If I had to guess I would say they are roughly 30 days away from closing. The flooring is in and cabinets are going up.
Just next door to them on lot 9041, an Austin II is getting their roofing today.
On the other side of us, on lot 9044, a Hammond is in progress. The framing is being completed and their garage flooring was poured this morning.
At the entryway to our drive sits lot 9055. A Dartmouth is being built with a side entry 3 car garage. The framing and roofing are complete. They are installing windows and the electrical phase is beginning.
Down on Brehm boulevard, on lot 9058, another Camden is in the process. It's a popular model here on The Bluffs.
There are many more homes down the pipeline. I'm looking forward to meeting all of our new neighbors.

Our home gym
It took just a few weekends. All the credit goes to my amazing boyfriend, who did all the work by himself.
He even installed a speaker system
Now all of our messy storage and utilities are hidden away.
It's become a very inviting place. I'm already working out more.

Living in a construction zone
The two lots on either side of us are under construction. The lot two down from us is underway as well. As is the giant lot on the corner or our street.
Great news for us! Come spring time most of the construction near us will be complete.
Until then... We spend our days dodging large equipment coming to and fro. And dealing with the mud and mess invading the streets.
It's nice to have some progress in the neighborhood. Not to mention new neighbors!!
It's winter time here on The Bluffs and the view is amazing.

DIY finishing the basement
It started out as a shelving project that turned into a much larger one.
The next weekend, with a brand new nail gun in hand, framing went up.
The third weekend lighting was installed
Then drywall was hung
This weekend the mudding process has begun. All DIY by my boyfriend. I'm beyond impressed. I think we are just over $1000 into a project that would have cost at least $10k through our builder.

The finishing touch to my kitchen
It's been, what? Almost four months since we found and ordered the perfect pantry door? After sending it back twice for being cut wrong they finally delivered an uncut door.
As my boyfriend sees it, it's always the perfect excuse to buy a new rotary tool.
I came home Monday evening after work to find it already hung and in place.

Who Knew?
I worked all weekend while my boyfriend tinkered in the basement, finishing our workout room.
As it turns out, he's got some skills. I am seriously impressed. It must be that new nail gun. 😉

Fall on The Bluffs.
This is the small lip they are trying to mimic.
Now it's poured. It looks awfully dark but it looks like it's starting to lighten. I just hope the color doesn't stand out too much when it's done.
The garage has been painted. We chose "poolhouse" by Sherwin Williams.
The final project, or so we hope, is finishing the basement workout room.
So far my boyfriend has installed shelving in the utility portion. This weekend he will work on the framing of the workout room. (Note the new nail gun. It's his pride and joy)
